Description

This image depicts the skirmish between the companions from the Dragonlance books and the giant slug they encountered in the kingdom of the Sla Mori. Tanis is thrown at the feet of the dead elven king and the slug disintigrates his weapon. After finding a sword and running it through the slug, Tanis recalls to his friends that he did not actually find the sword, but was given to him by the dead elven king. The sword turned out to be the lengendary Wyrmslayer sword.

This was a an entry for the D&D contest on Deathfall.com a while back. I ended up taking third which was surprising considering the great art everyone turned out. It was 99% 3D with ZBrush and Lightwave with the moss and a few lighting effects painted in. It took a couple hours a night for about a month to finish. Learned a lot so maybe next time something like this won't take nearly as long!

i can see sturm, raistlin, flint and tanis! great details although tanis kind of looks short because of the way his left leg is shown.

Nice job on the modeling. But it is almost too busy in a way that could probably be fixed by working on the lighting a little more.

Its very nice although the ambient light covers quite much. Make those perfectly steady pylons a bit more jagged (they have nice texture but the sides of the pylons tells something else). Don't show everything, hide and play with the light.
